Dressing for The Apple Body Type

Saturday, September 26th, 2009

Human body has different shapes and they all have been segregated in different types. One of the common body types is Apple body type. It basically refers to persons with larger upper body. Now, that is a reason for many Apple-shaped to complain about misfitting dresses and inconvenience in choosing right sort of attire. But we are here to help you find what the right clothes are for you and how dresses can make you look shapelier. There is one common rule about dresses. Not all clothes suit everyone.

Different ones have different body structures and unless you are not a supermodel, it is hard to find every dress suitable for you. Several factors can arise from your body type. Some may complain of fat arms or some others may worry about thin structure. But it is not difficult to find suitable clothes for your body type. Those with apple body shape will have broad top. In other words, upper body parts will be larger than lower body types. Wide shoulders and back, small hips, thin legs etc are certain characteristics of apply body type.

Now if we think of appropriate trousers then that is relatively an easy task considering you don’t really need to hide any parts of your lower body. The suggestion here is to avoid skinny trousers or jeans as they draw attention to the waist. You can opt for wide leg trousers that will balance your upper body and lower body. You can also opt for pedal pushers.

Try choosing tunic-style top or empire waist shirt or even a shirt with slightly lower neck. These dresses will help you in hiding bulging areas and bring attention to your strength parts. As far as skirts are concerned, go for full length skirts.  Finally, when it comes to shoes try a stiletto-heeled sandal with delicate straps and kitten heels.
