Cuticles demand to be cared as they tend to become infected over a period of time. Most of the humans face the problem of cracked cuticles. The reasons for cracked cuticles are quite simple; negligence, improper diet and lack of moisture. This is a common scene during winter. Cracked cuticles can also cause pain. Fashion Tips

Tuesday, July 28th, 2009

Fashion is an industry that keeps changing rapidly. Hence it is important that you keep yourself updated with new fashion of the season and its related colors.

Some of the common fashion tips that I can share are as follows:

    * If you are going to buy a new pair of shades for you, it is necessary that you know the shape of your face. If you have a round face, avoid wearing shades that are very big and round. Opt for shades that are sleek and rimless.

    * Remember to protect yourself from the sun’s harmful UV rays by wearing a minimum SPF 15 sunscreen every day.

    * While applying your eye liner or lip liner, make sure that it does not smudge across the eye. In case you feel this is happening shift to a liner that is liquid base. This will make sure that the liner does not smudge on the eye.

    * Most people do not take proper care of their nails. It is not necessary that you get expensive manicures and pedicures every week but soaking your hands in warm water, removing the dirt and moisturizing your nails is important. This can be done sitting at home as well.

    * Always keep a lip balm with you. This tip goes for guys as well. Applying lip balm will make sure that your lips are well moisturized.

Monsoon Make-up

Friday, July 10th, 2009

Most of us are worried about our make-up when the monsoons arrive. We have some tips for you to protect yourself and your make-up when it’s raining.

First of all, avoid applying thick make-up as it has the risk of being washed out. Wear light and subtle make-up. Nowadays, there is waterproof make-up available in the market, like waterproof mascaras, liners, foundation and lipsticks. You can opt for these.

Besides, avoid using foundation if not necessary, or use it as a concealer. Face powder is a better option to remove the oiliness off your face. Avoid using pressed powder during the rains. While using eye-shadows, put the cream shadows away and instead use the powdered shadows. Opt for colours like pink and brown which are easier to maintain.

Blush should be applied lightly so that it doesn’t look like a spot of colour on your face. Cream blushers are water-friendly. If your face gets wet, you just need to pat it with a tissue. Again chose colours which are easier to maintain and go with your skin type.

Avoid using the wet eye liners during the monsoons. Instead use a kajal pencil as a liner. Also avoid using liquid lip colours and gloss for this season. Instead use lip balm and matte lipsticks which will also moisturize your lips.

Lastly, it is quite difficult to handle your hair during the rainy season. Put away the sprays and gels since they will get washed away anyways. Try and keep your hair tied to avoid frizz. Dry your hair quickly with a hair dryer once it gets wet. Avoid ironing or curling your hair artificially since it would not last for long during the monsoons.

There is absolutely no need to worry this season. You can glow and look pretty even while it’s raining. And the best alternative is to keep it natural!

nail care products

Saturday, April 4th, 2009

Nails are made up of a protein called keratin. They are an essential part of the body that acts as a protective layer for the fingers and toes. It reflects the inner personality and health of a person. Improper diet and lack of care can result in various deficiencies, diseases and infections. Therefore, it is very important to take care of the nails.

Today, the Indian market is flooded with an array of nail care products. The range of products include nail moisturizer, nail creams, varnish, nail polish removers, nail strengtheners, cuticle softener, nail glitters, nail stickers and an endless list. The endless list of these nail products help in treating, restoring, maintaining and enhancing nail beauty.

Taking care of nails is incomplete without taking care of the cuticles. Cuticle is a layer underneath the nails that forms a seal between the nail and the nail plate. It contributes to the formation and growth of nails. So, if cuticles are not maintained nails can never stay healthy and beautiful for long.

Cuticles are prone to various infections and diseases that lead to discomfort, pain, and trauma. Therefore, the use of products like cuticle oil, cuticle softener, and nail strengtheners can prevent damage of nails. Cuticle oils are used to retain the moisture level of the cuticle and prevent them from getting dry. A dehydrated cuticle is a major cause of hangnails that can be very painful. On the other hand, cuticle softeners are used to soften the cuticles and avoid cracking of nails. They also assist in removing dead skin around the nail plate. Nail strengtheners

These days, manicures and pedicures are also at a hike and are effectively treating several nail problems. Apart from the use of these products a balanced diet is very essential. Ensure a sufficient intake of calcium and vitamin B. Even though you spend an hour daily to clean and scrub your nails but if your diet does not include the required nutrients, the nails will never look healthy.

nail art tips

Saturday, April 4th, 2009

With the onset of creative techniques and imaginations, nail art has become the latest fashion statement today. Nails resemble a plain canvas, where nail artists explore their creativity and imaginations. The technique only requires few colors and creativity.

In the ancient times, nails were decorated with glitters and painted with henna and nail paints. But the modern world has come up with new techniques and various different nail decoration methods. The Indian fashion market is predominated with variety of creative and unique nail accessories.

These accessories are developing a niche in the cosmetic industry. The range of nail embellishments include geometric patterns, stars, nail glitters, colorful nail paints, gloss, stencil art, nail stickers, strips, nail tattoos, nail jewels, and many more.

Nail art requires a little practice, lot of patience and a free mind to explore the horizon of creativity. The first step for performing any nail art is to clean your nails well and file them in the desired shape. Then, choose the right product for yourself. Decide what you want to use an art pen, brush, sticker, stripe, bubble, marbling or just play with colors.

After you have selected the product, just explore your imaginations and think of a beautiful design that can enhance the look of your nails. Before starting off with any decoration or embellishments, apply a base coat to define the nails.

You can apply a transparent or a white base to the nails and make it your canvas. On your created canvas play with colors and make your own designs. Once you are through with the nail art, make sure that you apply a top coat before you wind up. This will help you to secure your art for longer.
