Winter is a source of joy for many families because of numbers of festivals and all the holidays. But for those having dry skins, winter can also cause lot of pain and anxiety. The harsh winter winds can cause serious problems to one’s skin and people often face the difficulty of dry and flaky skin during this season. So to face dry and cold winds of the winter, one must take adequate precaution and pamper his/her skin. Many people prefer to remain indoors during the season but that’s not exactly the solution. The basic of skin care during the winter begins with drinking enough water and taking a well balanced diet. Oily and junk foods must be avoided. Also, people don’t really drink adequate glasses of water during the winter so better to avoid that mistake and have at least 8 glasses of water every day. This will keep you hydrated. While going out, try wearing a long sleeved sweater and coats to tackle cold winds of the winter. Don’t leave any part of skin exposed to the harsh weather. One should always use a high quality moisturizer of reputed beauty care companies. These moisturizers have vitamin E that helps your skin in retaining the moisture for a long time.

 

Use lukewarm water for shower and not hot water because it takes away moisture from your skin. There must be a strict regime of cleansing, exfoliating, and moisturizing during the winters. Apply sunscreen during the winters for keeping your skin healthy. It is recommended to apply moisturizing bathing lotion instead of soap during the winters. Apply lip balm to keep your lips smooth.

Preventing Split Ends

Split ends is a major problem faced by many people. Hair care is a delicate issue and despite the onslaught of several hair care products, one cannot get rid of all the hair problems in a jiffy. Many products do help in bringing that shine and beauty to the hair but they also do not have answers to all the problems faced by hair. In such cases, it is better to take preventive measures. Split end is one of the most common problems. They harm in two different ways of damaging your hair and stunting the growth. They also cause rough hair. As suggested above, it is better if you take preventive measures well in advance.

 

The first thing you need to take care is of avoid using chemical ridden materials. Natural stuffs are always recommended for better hair. Chemical materials adversely affect hair texture in the long run. Swimmers often face problem of split ends because of chlorine in the water. For them, using swim cap or shampooing hair properly after the swim is strongly recommended. Water coming through your tap is full of chemicals and these cause split ends. Use filters to get better water and prevent your hair from getting split ends. Alternately, you can also use water softening system in the house.

 

Hair must be combed straight. Back-combing causes great damage to hair. One should not comb hair too much as it causes split ends. Just a fw times and it is more than sufficient. Try using a pick or wide-toothed comb that would be greatly beneficial for your hair. Be very gentle to your hair. Try wearing hat while you go out in sun because ultraviolet rays affect hair. You can also use a conditioner that suits your hair type and apply it before every outing. Avoid using artificial way of drying like hair dryer as they cause split ends.
