Winter is a source of joy for many families because of numbers of festivals and all the holidays. But for those having dry skins, winter can also cause lot of pain and anxiety. The harsh winter winds can cause serious problems to one’s skin and people often face the difficulty of dry and flaky skin during this season. So to face dry and cold winds of the winter, one must take adequate precaution and pamper his/her skin. Many people prefer to remain indoors during the season but that’s not exactly the solution. All you need to do is to follow certain steps and you will be able to enjoy winter like everybody else. One can keep his skin soft, supple and flawless during the winter provided he or she is taking good care of the skin.

The basic of skin care during the winter begins with drinking enough water and taking a well balanced diet. Oily and junk foods must be avoided. Also, people don’t really drink adequate glasses of water during the winter so better to avoid that mistake and have at least 8 glasses of water every day. This will keep you hydrated. While going out, try wearing a long sleeved sweater and coats to tackle cold winds of the winter. Don’t leave any part of skin exposed to the harsh weather. One should always use a high quality moisturizer of reputed beauty care companies. These moisturizers have vitamin E that helps your skin in retaining the moisture for a long time.

Use lukewarm water for shower and not hot water because it takes away moisture from your skin. There must be a strict regime of cleansing, exfoliating, and moisturizing during the winters. Apply sunscreen during the winters for keeping your skin healthy. It is recommended to apply moisturizing bathing lotion instead of soap during the winters. Apply lip balm to keep your lips smooth.

Split ends is a major problem faced by many people. Hair care is a delicate issue and despite the onslaught of several hair care products, one cannot get rid of all the hair problems in a jiffy. Many products do help in bringing that shine and beauty to the hair but they also do not have answers to all the problems faced by hair. In such cases, it is better to take preventive measures. Split end is one of the most common problems. They harm in two different ways of damaging your hair and stunting the growth. They also cause rough hair. As suggested above, it is better if you take preventive measures well in advance.

The first thing you need to take care is of avoid using chemical ridden materials. Natural stuffs are always recommended for better hair. Chemical materials adversely affect hair texture in the long run. Swimmers often face problem of split ends because of chlorine in the water. For them, using swim cap or shampooing hair properly after the swim is strongly recommended. Water coming through your tap is full of chemicals and these cause split ends. Use filters to get better water and prevent your hair from getting split ends. Alternately, you can also use water softening system in the house.

Hair must be combed straight. Back-combing causes great damage to hair. One should not comb hair too much as it causes split ends. Just a fw times and it is more than sufficient. Try using a pick or wide-toothed comb that would be greatly beneficial for your hair. Be very gentle to your hair. Try wearing hat while you go out in sun because ultraviolet rays affect hair. You can also use a conditioner that suits your hair type and apply it before every outing. Avoid using artificial way of drying like hair dryer as they cause split ends.

Makeup Tips For Monsoon

Saturday, June 6th, 2009

Different seasons demand differently from your skin. If appropriate care is not taken, demanding seasons can take heavy toll of your skin. We have talked about how to take good care of your skin during summer. Now, let’s have an idea about monsoon and what you need to do during monsoon to enhance your beauty. It’s not an easy job to appear glowing and cheerful during monsoon but slight effort, few precautions here and there and you can literally surprise people. Start with right selection of clothes. Different clothes react different to monsoon. For example, cotton and silk soak water easily. Consequently, they also become limp and lose their shapes after drying up.

The best suggested clothes for monsoon are synthetics like terylene and nylon. The thing about these materials is they dry up easily, don’t lose their shape and are crease resisting. Well, the ideal combination would be using vivid, vibrant and colorful clothes. The colors like green, deep orange, turquoise etc will add charm to your personality. Footwear is another important aspect you should pay attention to. Save your feet from getting wet by using plastic or rubber shoes. If your shoes are wet, get rid of them immediately once you have reached home. Clean your feet thoroughly with warm water using soap. Use glycerin on your feet before going to sleep. That will help in keeping your feet smooth, soft and free from any skin problems.

Hair-do must be very simple. No fancy styles and curls etc. reason being, hair tend to be limp and weak because of humidity so it makes sense to use a single plait or a plain bun. Make sure to have a hair dryer. Avoid sing foundation and face cream during rain. Chances are your make up will be spoiled by rain and some ugly stained lines might appear on your face. Just use plain eyebrow pencil, lipstick and powder. Lip-gloss would be fine.
